The heart of the school
The British School New Delhi library is a basis of info, wisdom and stimulus. We inspire students of all ages to take full advantage of it to help them grow life-long skills to set their basis in this Information Age. The Primary School has a modern automatic library which holds a central location, both in location and in the curriculum. Its complete collection of resources is available for use by all members of the school for study, personal, regeneration and reduction purposes.

The British School New Delhi Students from non-English speaking upbringings are encouraged to uphold literacy in their first language, which is reinforced by a growing group of books in 4 languages. The library has admission to a network of 20 wireless processers which are used for public admission searches, word-processing, graphics and material gathering.

The Information Skills Programme
The British School New Delhi library has a recognized Information Skills programmer designed to teach students how to access, use and connect information. The programmer is a range which is integrated into the curriculum and armored through all year levels. It is aimed at emerging confident, independent beginners for life.

Opening Times
The British School New Delhi Library is open between 7:30am to 8:00am; during first break from 10:00am to 10:30am; and 2:00pm to 3:30pm Monday-Friday on school working days.

Each class has a weekly copying session. Staff and students can also copy at first break (10:00am – 10:30am) or in the 30 minutes before and after the school day. During second disruption students may read, investigation and draw in the library.

The British School New Delhi Parents may visit the public library to read to their children between 2:00pm and 3:30pm Monday-Friday on school employed days.
