The British School New Delhi was recognized in 1963 to provide a British teaching to British children in India though its doors have always been open to children from other states. The school is self-financing and is possessed by the British School Society, the association of which is all the parents of students in school. A Board of Governors, a popular of whose members are designated parents, directs the affairs of the school. Today the school registers many nationalities, though the biggest national groups are British and Indian.

The British School New Delhi Welcome through Year 9 follows the English National Curriculum, with suitable revisions to take into account its condition in New Delhi. Students in Year 10 and 11 have a extensive range of IGCSE/GCSE options to select from, and Year 12 and 13 make for GCE 'A' levels. Closely all students continue to university on completing Year 13.

The British School New Delhi inhabits an attractive six-acre site on the borders of the Diplomatic Enclave. Gardens and playing fields border the main building. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped professional rooms for art, drama, music and computers. There are two public library, one for primary and one for the secondary school. A spacious science block houses four well-equipped workshops. A multi-purpose hall offers space for exercises, basketball and school makings and events. The British School New Delhi is currently informing its facilities. Phase I of the plan was completed in July 2002.

The British School New Delhi Students can join the bus service after a transport form has been filled in and returned to the Community Relations Office.

It is understood that the student will avail the bus service till such time as a withdrawal notice in writing is submitted to the above office.

School Transport

The British School New Delhi dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and inspires its students to use the bus facility on offer.

The school has six air-conditioned buses now and runs a bus service to most South Delhi areas and Gurgaon (NCR) areas. The steering of the buses is dependent upon demand in sure areas and is run on a no-profit-no-loss basis. Bus fees are composed per term and bus amenities are available to all students from Year 2 onwards. The British School New Delhi students are always escorted by an attendant in the bus. Buses normally depart ten minutes after school gets over. It might be useful to note that primary students who avail of an afternoon activity daily will not be able to use the bus service. They should try for actions on Mondays and Wednesdays when the buses depart at 3.30 pm.

We are dedicated to offering healthy snacks through the snack shop, also on a delegated basis.  There is a tuck shop (kiosk) too which offers milk, yoghurt, fruit juices, fruit and packaged snacks.

The British School New Delhi Names of present students on the meal plan are normally approved over from one term to the next and also to the next abstract year after the end of Term 4.

The British School New DelhiStudents are detached from the meal plan list only when an allusion in writing is sent to Navneet Kaur at n.kaur@british-school.org before the start of every term. Please note that the custodies per meal, per child is Rs 210 and invoices are high for a term at a time (four terms in a year).

Meal Plan Programme

The British school New Delhi has an elective meal plan involuntary and hot eats are served during the main break. The meal plan program me is open to students from Years 1 to 13. While the programmer is elective, it is optional for hot lunches, which are balanced and healthful. The meals provision is subcontracted to a catering company called ‘United Chefs' and worked by Mr Sunil Chauhan and his team.

The British school New Delhi meal plan delivery was started in 2005 when the school day was lengthy by an hour, to offer a suitable and ‘’value for money’’ other to packed lunches or kiosk snacks. By offering a variety of choices, it eases healthy eating options and reinforces healthy eating messages providing in the classroom. For students who opt for the meal plan, it provides an vital regular midday meal which is so important in these growing years. This is particularly relevant for many Secondary School students who ignore breakfast most mornings.

The British school New Delhi menus are reviewed every term and comprise a variety of cuisines using the newest seasonal fixings. Students are complex in the selection and design of menus through the Meal Plan Board. This Group currently includes the Nurse Manager, the caterer, two teachers (primary and secondary), the Communications Officer, two secondary students and one main student. Menus are advanced for one month at a time with details then posted in the intranet.

The British school New Delhi All students choosing for the meal plan need to fill up a  meal plan form at the start of the year or whenever they join. They are then carried over through the terms and the next year until they wish to remove and give an allusion in writing.

Books and Stationery 

The British school New Delhi  offers all textbooks to students for the abstract year.
Secondary students need to buy exact notebooks from the school notepaper shop which is located within the school buildings. The shop is open from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday on all school days. A small book credit is kept by the school against books not repaid when a student leaves.

Stationery for primary students is also if by The British school New Delhi  though each student needs to bring his/her own pens, writes and coloring materials.

When a student withdraws from school, a permission is required from the text book section safeguarding that all text books have been returned.

The British School New Delhi All students from Nursery up to Year 11 are required to wear a uniform.

- There are dissimilar dresses for summer and winter for Primary and Secondary students and there are distinct uniforms for daily wear and PE.

- Years 12 and 13 (IB students) have no unvarying but a dress code. In Term 4, dresses are on sale at the school from 16 March 2015 as per specifics below:

1.    You no longer need to place an order via email - you may come and buy directly from the uniform supplier at school during the above timings.

Sports Programme

The British School New Delhi Sports Programme has become an essential part of the after school action enhancement offer, allowing students to grow their skills and tactics in both separate and team sports. Our programme has a ‘Sports for All’ policy and all aptitudes are welcome. So whether a student wants to improve their skills or signify their school with pride in inter school rivalry this is for them.

The British School New Delhi Schedule Our schedule is available on our main school’s sport almanac and is reliant on on sport and age range. The sports doings run from Monday to Thursday after school and with modest games/extended exercise on a Saturday morning. Each activity will have a smallest of students to run the real team sessions, but has no maximum limit.

After School Activities Programme (Secondary School)

The British School New Delhi After School Doings Programme at The British School forms a part of an improvement programme to give students the chance to participate in activities that spread their learning. This programme is aimed at communicating new skills, ornamental existing talent and affording students the occasion to work with experts outside the normal curriculum.

Schedule.
The British School New Delhi After school Actions are open to Year Groups 7 to 13. Activity meetings are arranged after school from 2.45 to 3.45 pm, on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the current theoretical year. Each activity will be showed only if there is a minimum ‘take-up’ of five students, with a maximum action group of 20 students.
Please note:

• The British School New Delhi is a voluntary programmed.
• We have 20 seats in each activity, admissions will be on ‘first come – first serve’ basis.
• Please ensure that your child registers for her/his choice of activity in time.
• The fee per activity, per student for one term is Rs. 2000/- . This is non-refundable, as groups
   are formed keeping student numbers in mind. The  activities are delivered by external
   facilitators.
• The British School New Delhi dress code required for Martial Arts and sports activities /games is the school PE kit with
   trainers. Please ensure that your child is carrying the required kit.
• Students are expected to follow all school rules during the activity.

The British School New Delhi takes a holistic method to learning. We have a skills-based prospectus as we trust that once a student has the right skills, s/he can learn the information and enter the world with a sturdier foundation and a broader attitude. As a result we offer each student the chance to participate in our student enhancement programmed. These range from after-school doings, arts centenaries, Battle of the Bands, a Model United Nations program me (MUN) to charity events, to name a few. The British School New Delhi after school doings program me aims to bring in a holistic method to education. Both the co-curricular program me and the curriculum foster and grow students’ skills and talents. The program me offers chances to enrich the students’ involvements, and hence the programmer is time-tabled, within the school judgments.

The British School New Delhi students of Years 7, 8 and 9 and 10 are fortified to choose from a list of more than 20 doings like Madhubani, Chess, Cricket, Taekwondo, Tabla, Kathak, Jazz, Bhangra and Automation. English as Additional Language (EAL)

The British School New Delhi As an international, multicultural school, we welcome students whose mother language is not English, and we bring support to help them control to mainstream learning. Special Education Needs (SEN)

The British School New Delhi Special Instructive Needs (SEN) Department is devoted to helping students with mild to reasonable learning problems.

The British School New Delhi Students can enter the SEN program me at any time of the year or continue on it throughout their instructive career. Our admissions policy needs parents to state if their child or children have any singular learning needs.  Apart from normal admission tests, the school also requires standardized valuations (psycho-educational reports) to assess the needs of a child and to see if s/he would benefit from the program me. The SEN section has a referral process in place to refer present students at any time of the year.

The British School New Delhi Students with learning problems are in normal classes for a greater part of the school day.  In Key Stage 3, they may be reserved from one or two of the foreign languages to receive discrete support. In Key Stage 4 and 5, they may opt for fewer IGCSE and IB topics and their free time is used for individual support.

The IEP includes the student’s separate targets (communication, literacy, skill, behaviour, social skills), plans to achieve the board and criteria for assessment of progress.

The British School New Delhi Students taking IGCSE and IB exams are assumed inspection support contingent on their needs and subject to the endorsement of the examination board.

The British School New Delhi Primary and Secondary Schools have well armed Health rooms, which are operated by three fully capable nurses. They are obtainable during school hours to manage first aid and basic nursing care to any student hurt or becoming unwell throughout the school day.

The British School New Delhi Health rooms carry spare recovery gadget for use in case of a life intimidating illness and the school has prompt access to The Primus Hospital situated two minutes from the school for spare care and action if required. In addition to our three fully qualified nursing staff, over eighty members of our teaching and management staff are qualified in First Aid and Emergency revival.

On admission to the school all students are requested to complete a health form and to experience a basic health check. We ask parents to inform this health information and any alternative contact numbers on an yearly basis.
