British School New Delhi Mission

British School New Delhi Mission
British School New Delhi and international education with an Indian soul.We try to live out our mission and test our success in doing so on a steady basis. So what does it mean and what does it feel like here, if you are a guest to the school, a family since enrolling your children here, or, certainly, a student here now?

British - British School New Delhi we follow the National Prospectus (of England) from the start of the Basis Stage in the Nursery to the end of Year 9 (Key Stage 3). We use the University of Durham’s standardized valuations to monitor students’ development, to support and test them, to recognize possible and any under-achievement (and intervene quickly, in the case of the latter). In adding to looking at every individual’s presentation, we follow the GCSE/IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations) in Years 10 and 11 and standard ourselves against leading secluded and state schools in Britain. We have strong links with British universities, counting an internship system with scholars from Oxford and Cambridge. Our staff frequently goes on training programs in England or we bring British teachers, speakers and facilitators into British School New Delhi, to work directly with staff and students. We have a strong and respected relationship with the British High Command, with many British companies and with the British Business Group. All such links are made to profit the students: British School New Delhi we exist for them and continually re-evaluate what we do in the light of their changing circumstances. We are proud of our record of success in helping students to transfer to leading British School New Delhi in Britain, if and when they return to Britain.

International - We are an international public of 55-60 nationalities, proud of our cultural acceptance and our ability to respect variety. The students are the main strength of the British School New Delhi, closely followed by the staff. We are familiar to supporting our students to attend leading universities all over the world. We are international in our view, our demography and in our prospectus. Our aims and values reflect those of the IB very closely, though we are distinctively different. We link, in our affiliations, to British School New Delhi internationally and have a staff that is international in outlook and in its incessant professional expansion and training. Our curriculum, from the Substance Stage through to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education and IB Diploma, draws on international contexts. Our education lines up with the best of enquiry-based learning and critical thinking world-wide.

Indian - when we receive a visitor to the British School New Delhi, we want that visitor to know that they are in India. This does not feel like a British school in Britain. It has a closely-connected and vibrant feel to it, one that is akin to the Indian extended family at its best. We support the development of Hindi for all who wish to study it, we promote Indian cultures throughout the British School New Delhi as well as the best traditions of participation and democracy. Our largely Indian staff as well as a core (about 30% by passport) of Indian British School New Delhi students ensures that the values, culture and traditions of India are always at the fore.
